COVID-19 Response Plan


Visitor Policies

For the safety of all visitors and staff, the following changes and policies are in place until further notice:

* A mask is recommended
* Please practice social distancing at all times, staying 6 feet apart
* Visitors who feel ill or have a fever higher than 100.4 are asked to visit at a later date

The museum is operating at a limited building capacity, and there may be a wait to get in
Your patience is appreciated

Some interactive exhibits and elements are temporarily closed

The number of guests in the gift shops will be limited, and guests are asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering the shops.


Interactive Exhibits

Some interactive exhibits and elements are temporarily closed or disabled. These include, but are not limited to:

Civil War Museum:  Interactive stations within the exhibits
Kenosha Public Museum:  Touch screens within the exhibits
Dinosaur Discovery Museum:  Dino Dig and other interactive stations, lower level activities


Museum Cleaning Procedures

The Museum is taking extra safety and cleaning precautions.

Staff are disinfecting all exhibits, railings and door handles throughout the day.

Washrooms are cleaned once per hour.

Gift shop counters are cleaned repeatedly throughout the day.

A deeper cleaning and sanitizing occurs each evening.

Hand sanitizing stations are available to the public. Social distancing reminders are posted throughout the exhibit spaces, public areas, and at check-in. Guests are also asked to refrain from unnecessarily touching surfaces to help maintain a safe environment.

The policies in place follow the recommendation of the Kenosha County Division of Health and national museum standards and best practices to COVID-19. Museum staff look forward to welcoming visitors back, and ask for patience and respect as we all navigate policies and procedures in place to keep the health and safety of all the first priority.
