DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 17  |  10:00am – 12:00pm  |  Instructor: Tiffany Knopow\, MFA  |  $44 ($55 non-member)  |  Register Here \nUse the sun to make beautiful cyanotypes and photograms (sun prints) of three-dimensional objects on paper. The result is a beautiful silhouette of the object placed on the photosensitive paper. We will start off using nature as our inspiration (leaves\, twigs\, flowers) but you are welcome to bring items to experiment with. (If the sun does not cooperate\, we will use a special light indoors).

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 17 (Rain Date August 24)  |  10:30am – 12:30pm  |  Instructor: Kathy Laybourn  |  $76 ($95 non-member)  |  Register Here \nHave you ever made art by experimenting with melting crayons when you were a kid? This workshop is designed for anyone who would like to be introduced to the “cold wax” encaustic method. Students will learn to add a soft\, beeswax mix into oil paint which is applied to an encaustic board and melted with a heat gun. Successive layers of paint can be built up and mixed media elements can also be added to the layers to create both representational and abstract pieces of art.
