SUMMARY:Exhibit Closing: Civil War Innovation & Technology
DESCRIPTION:June 7\, 2026 \nThe Civil War was a turning point not just in American history\, but in the advancement of technology. Civil War Innovation & Technology explores the groundbreaking developments that reshaped medicine\, transportation\, communication\, daily life\, and warfare. From battlefield surgery and the rise of anesthesia to the expansion of railroads and the introduction of the telegraph\, these innovations changed the way people lived and fought. The war also drove advancements in farming tools\, household necessities\, and military weaponry\, including the emergence of ironclad ships and rapid-fire guns. Through artifacts\, interactive displays\, and historical accounts\, this exhibit highlights how necessity and ingenuity during the Civil War laid the foundation for many modern technologies.

SUMMARY:Museum Book Club: My Dear Hamilton by Laura Kaye and Stephanie Day
DESCRIPTION:From the New York Times bestselling authors of America’s First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton–a revolutionary woman who\, like her new nation\, struggled to define herself in the wake of war\, betrayal\, and tragedy. Haunting\, moving\, and beautifully written\, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza’s story as it’s never been told before–not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal–but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right. \nThursday\, June 25  |  12pm – 1pm  |  Discussion led by: Emily Mentzel  |  Free\, registration appreciated  |  Register Here
