DESCRIPTION:This monthly program engages participants in lively conversations\, storytelling\, object handling\, and other multi-sensory activities that relate. Space is limited so reservations are appreciated. For more information or to register\, please call 262-653-4432 or send an email to spark@kenosha.org \n\n\nKindness in a Cup of Coffee\nFriday\, March 21  |  2:00pm – 3:30pm  \nNo single item of food or drink meant as much to Civil War soldiers.  They talked about coffee\, wrote about coffee\, and dreamed about coffee.  This SPARK! program describes the different methods Civil War soldiers obtained\, brewed and shared their coffee and how these actions sometimes brought them brief moments of peace\, comfort and kindness. \n\nHardtack and Butter\nThursday*\, April 17  |  2:00pm – 3:30pm \n*The Museum is closed Good Friday\, April 18 \nParticipants will explore the food supplied to Civil War soldiers as well as make butter. \n\nExplore Kenosha’s Harborside Sculpture Walk\nFriday\, May 16  |  2:00pm – 3:30pm  \nParticipants will experience the beautiful lakefront of Lake Michigan to explore the Kenosha Harbor Sculpture Walk\, an art installation featuring 10 inspiring works of art. \n\n\n\n\n\nAll programs are free\, but pre-registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 17  |  1pm – 3pm  |  $8 ($10 for non-members)  |  Register Here \nMeet at the Kenosha Public Museum \nJoin Curator of Education\, Nick Wiersum\, as we explore the local fossils of Kenosha’s lakeshore. Meet at the Kenosha Public Museum to learn about the prehistoric life that called this area home\, discuss how to locate fossils\, and then head out to the Simmon’s Island beach house to collect fossils of your own! All participants are responsible for providing their own transportation from the Museum to the collection site. The Museum will provide you with any tools you will need\, including a collection bag\, fossil guide\, and magnifying glass.
