National Fossil Day
Wednesday, October 16 | 1:00pm – 4:00pm | Free
Families can pick up a special scavenger hunt activity in the main exhibit, learn how to clean real dinosaur fossils in the lower level, and participate in the dinosaur dig. They can also learn how to become official junior paleontologists through the National Park Service! National Fossil Day is an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations.
Dinos in the Dark
Embark on a thrilling adventure through the Dinosaur Discovery Museum with a flashlight in hand! As you explore the museum’s skeletons, watch as the dinosaurs seem to come alive in the shadows, revealing their fascinating features. Don’t miss out on this popular event and secure your tickets today!

Ghost Hunting
Are you intrigued by the supernatural? Ever dreamt of delving into a paranormal investigation? Join us at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum after hours for a spine-tingling experience. Listen to chilling tales of eerie happenings, examine evidence of the paranormal captured by real-life ghost hunters—including photographs and EVPs—and embark on your own investigation of the museum.
$20 per person, $16 for Friends of the Museum Members

Youth Programs
Youth programming at the Kenosha Public Museum is specifically designed for children to explore topics of Natural History, Science, Social Sciences and the Arts in a safe and welcoming environment without requiring the presence of their parent or guardian. These programs require registration, often require a fee, and are grouped by the specific age ranges of the attendees. Please select a specific program to learn more.
2025 Camps coming in January
Cancellations and Refunds
A full refund will be issued if the Kenosha Public Museum, Dinosaur Discovery Museum, or Civil War Museum cancels a workshop or camp.
All refunds requested within 72 hours of the program are subject to a $10 processing fee.
No refunds are offered on or after the day a workshop or camp begins.
Class cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met two days prior to the event. You will be contacted via phone or email if your event is canceled.
If unforeseen circumstances (i.e. weather, power outages, instructor illness) occur within 72 hours of the workshop or camp and the program must be canceled, the museum will do its best to reschedule or provide a voucher to take a program of a similar or same cost.
