Camp Scholarships
The Kenosha Public Museums Summer Camp Scholarship Program provides young people in need of financial assistance the opportunity to attend summer camp. We encourage young people of all diverse backgrounds to apply.

Spring Camps
Spring Break Fun Camp
Keep your child busy with some educational fun during spring break! Camp will have three days to explore activities based on fossils, art, and nature.

Explore fossils found around Kenosha and learn about what our city used to be like in the past.
Wednesday – Art
We’ll flex our creative muscles and make art using found materials.
Thursday – Nature
Explore nature and get ready for our yards and gardens to wake up! We’ll also learn about animals found around Kenosha.

Are you ready for the ultimate prehistoric adventure? Step back in time and join us at Dino Camp, where young explorers can immerse themselves in the world of dinosaurs. Build your own dino fossil model, create dino-themed art, and a private tour of the Dinosaur Discovery Museum.

Let your little artist’s imagination run wild, every day of camp is a new opportunity to explore, create, and express themselves through the magic of art. From watercolor painting, shaping clay and recycled materials to uniquely carved prints, your child will explore a variety of fun mediums to bring their visions to life.

This week history comes alive! Young explorers will dive deep into the world of ancient cultures, from the Vikings to Egypt and Greece. Your child will discover the wonders of the past through writing hieroglyphics, creating shields and our own Olympic games.

Blast off into an unforgettable adventure at Space Camp! Kids will journey through the stars as they explore constellations, planets, and distant galaxies. They’ll design and launch their own rockets, experience the challenges of space missions, and discover what life is like for astronauts beyond Earth. Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience!

Dive into the wonders of our oceans, rivers, and lakes. Discover incredible sea creatures, from vibrant fish to majestic whales, while learning about their unique habitats. Conduct scientific experiments to test tap water quality and explore the beauty of Lake Michigan—our very own freshwater ocean. Embark on a lakeshore fossil hunt and uncover ancient treasures from millions of years ago and find out how our shoreline is more related to the ocean than you might think.

Backyard Nature Camp

Young explorers will uncover the wonders of nature right in their backyard. From buzzing bees to chirping birds, they’ll learn about local ecosystems, grow a mini-garden, study habitats, and learn about conservation through museum exhibits and nature walks. It’s an adventure in discovery and creativity!

Art Around the World Camp
Art Around the World Camp

Explore the world through creative expression with activities like crafting intricate sand mandalas, painting Aboriginal dot figures, experimenting with Japanese spilled ink prints, and decorating traditional Matryoshka nesting dolls. Each art form offers a fun and hands-on way to learn about different cultures while developing artistic skills.

Dungeons & Dragons

Day 1 – Making a character, learning the basics
Days 2 & 3 – Running an adventure, miniature painting
Storytelling is an integral part of every culture around the world. They are used to explain the natural world, remember histories, and for entertainment. Through the vast fantasy of the Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting, learn about storytelling, create your own characters, and go on a fantastic adventure. If you’re ready, let’s roll initiative! Participants will receive everything they need to play–a set of dice, a character miniature, and a character sheet. For the full three camps, we will cover basic character creation, so please do not bring a prepared character sheet with you.

Cooking Camps
Learn how to make a full dish with Museum Staff to enjoy as a prepared lunch with parent or guardian upon pick-up. Must register for each day individually. Ages 10-13.
Pasta

Whether your child is a budding foodie or a kitchen novice, this workshop is the perfect opportunity for young chefs to develop essential kitchen skills, cultivate a love for cooking, and gain confidence in their culinary abilities. In this class, students will learn the basics of fresh pasta-making and building a tomato-based sauce.
Spring Rolls

In this lively workshop, kids will become junior chefs as they learn the art of assembling and rolling their very own spring rolls. Museum Staff will guide them through the process, teaching age-appropriate cooking techniques and emphasizing the importance of fresh, wholesome ingredients. Kids will make dipping sauces and learn about some special ingredients that make Thai cooking so delicious. May contain peanuts or products made near peanuts.
Pizza

Sign your kids up for a delightful pizza-making workshop designed to turn them into pizza-making maestros! Get ready for a hands-on, cheesy adventure that will have them kneading, topping, and baking their very own personalized pizzas in an outdoor pizza oven. Kids will get a chance to make savory and sweet pizzas.
Cancellations and Refunds
A full refund will be issued if the Kenosha Public Museum, Dinosaur Discovery Museum, or Civil War Museum cancels a workshop or camp.
All refunds requested within 72 hours of the program are subject to a $10 processing fee.
No refunds are offered on or after the day a workshop or camp begins.
Class cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met two days prior to the event. You will be contacted via phone or email if your event is canceled.
If unforeseen circumstances (i.e. weather, power outages, instructor illness) occur within 72 hours of the workshop or camp and the program must be canceled, the museum will do its best to reschedule or provide a voucher to take a program of a similar or same cost.
