Designed for painters of all skill levels. Each of the four sessions will begin with a demonstration showcasing a technique of the day. Students are instructed on color mixing, application and removal, brush strokes, and instruction on the various papers and mediums in a relaxed environment devoted to the students’ personal styles. Subjects include landscapes and still life. A supply list will be sent to students when they sign up.

Be enchanted with texture and color in acrylic paint! Students will learn how to construct a painting by determining basic composition, blocking in the underlying dark, middle, and light values, and layering color. Students will work from an image of an impressionist painting. This class is perfect for those who are beginners or have previous experience and want to expand their skills in acrylics. A supply list will be sent to students when they sign up.
All sessions will be at the Civil War Museum except the final session (November 9th) which will be at the Kenosha Public Museum.

Students will use wire and a mold to make a frame. Beads and wire will be used to make the tree of life. Each one unique with the choices of wire; copper, sliver, gold and rose gold, plus many assorted bead combinations. This basket starts on an oval wood base and is woven to about 11” high. Using natural and dyed reed students will weave this basket to fit a plastic liner. A great basket for bedroom, bath or office. This class will cover some of the fundamental principles and exercises of Tai Chi, focusing on balance, breathing, and movement, while relaxing the body and. mind. No experience necessary, wear comfortable clothing for low-impact exercise.

Create this fabulous floral arrangement with your kiddo for a special mom or grandma in your family. This project will focus on how to make different size pom poms to create the blossoms of the allium plant. With a few other additions to your plant, you can make a faux flower that a mom or grandma would love as a gift! All supplies are included, no experience necessary.

Spend part of your holiday season with your inner child and create a house good enough to eat! Using graham crackers, pretzel rods, cookies, frosting, candy, and your imagination, design and construct a fantasy house fit for Hansel and Gretel. All supplies included in workshop price.

Cancellations and Refunds
A full refund will be issued if the Kenosha Public Museum, Dinosaur Discovery Museum, or Civil War Museum cancels a workshop or camp.
All refunds requested within 72 hours of the program are subject to a $10 processing fee.
No refunds are offered on or after the day a workshop or camp begins.
Class cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met two days prior to the event. You will be contacted via phone or email if your event is canceled.
If unforeseen circumstances (i.e. weather, power outages, instructor illness) occur within 72 hours of the workshop or camp and the program must be canceled, the museum will do its best to reschedule or provide a voucher to take a program of a similar or same cost.
