Summer Workshop: Encaustic Painting

For all skill levels.  Did you ever make art by experimenting with melting Crayon when you were a kid? This workshop will introduce you to the more grown up “cold wax” encaustic method.

Learn to add a soft, beeswax mix into oil paint which is applied to an encaustic board and melted with a heat gun. Successive layers of paint can be built up and mixed media elements can also be added to the layers to create both representational and abstract pieces of art.
