Winter Acrylic Painting Beginner and Beyond

Be enchanted with texture and color in acrylic paint! Students will learn how to construct a painting by determining basic composition, blocking in the underlying dark, middle, and light values, and layering color. Students will work from an image of an impressionist painting. This class is perfect for those who are beginners or have previous experience and want to expand their skills in acrylics. A supply list will be sent to students when they sign up.

Fall Watercolor Techniques II

Dive into the art of embroidery with this vibrant felt workshop! In this class, you’ll master essential stitches like the straight stitch, stem stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, fishbone, and French knots, all while creating beautiful, textured designs. Whether you’re new to embroidery or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on session is ideal for ages 12 and up. The class runs for 4 hours, so feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks to stay energized. All supplies included in workshop price.

Vintage Costume Jewelry Christmas Tree

Bring your broken costume jewelry, mis-paired earrings, and sentimental brooches to repurpose them into a whimsical and cheerful framed Christmas tree that you will cherish each holiday season. Enjoy a glass of wine and vintage Christmas vinyl records while you piece together your tree on a background of velvet. The Museum will supply a frame, background fabric, some costume jewelry to supplement your collection, and all tools needed to complete a mixed media piece that is approximately 8×10 in size. We recommend bringing at least 10–15 pieces of your own jewelry to make your tree truly personal.

Holiday Paint and Sip: Christmas Still Life

Students will work from a festive still-life of packages, bows, and oversized ornaments to finish a painting in the light-hearted class. Add sparkling snowflakes to finish your artwork. No prior painting experience necessary. All supplies included in workshop price

A full refund will be issued if the Kenosha Public Museum, Dinosaur Discovery Museum, or Civil War Museum cancels a workshop or camp.

All refunds requested within 72 hours of the program are subject to a $10 processing fee.

No refunds are offered on or after the day a workshop or camp begins.

Class cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met two days prior to the event. You will be contacted via phone or email if your event is canceled.

If unforeseen circumstances (i.e. weather, power outages, instructor illness) occur within 72 hours of the workshop or camp and the program must be canceled, the museum will do its best to reschedule or provide a voucher to take a program of a similar or same cost.
